Safety
Before you use this appliance
• Remove all packaging.
• The appliance may be installed and connected
by a qualified installer only. The manufacturer
cannot be held liable for any damage caused
by incorrect installation or connection.
• The appliance may only be used after it has
been installed in a unit with an approved and
appropriate work surface.
• This domestic appliance is intended for ordi-
nary domestic use (preparation of food) only,
to the exclusion of any other domestic, com-
mercial or industrial use.
• Remove all labels and stickers from the ce-
ramic glass.
• Do not convert or modify the appliance.
• Do not use the hob as a base or work surface.
• Safety is ensured only if the appliance has
been earthed as prescribed.
• Do not use an extension lead to connect it to
the electrical grid.
• The appliance must not be used above a dis-
hwasher or a tumble-dryer; the steam from
such appliances can damage the electronics.
Using the appliance
• Always switch off the heating zones after
use.
• Keep an eye on preparations containing gre-
ase or oils; they can catch fire easily.
• Be careful not to burn yourself while or after
using the appliance.
• Do not allow children to operate the appli-
ance.
• Make sure no cable of any fixed or portable
appliance touches the hot cooking zone or
any hot pot.
• Do not put any metallic object except pots
or pans on the glass surface. If the appliance
is inadvertently switched on or is still hot, it
could heat or melt the material or even set
it on fire.
• Never cover the appliance with a cloth or
a protective cover. It could become hot or
catch fire.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced or
impaired physical, sensory or mental capabi-
lities or persons lacking knowledge and expe-
rience unless they are supervised or taught
how to use the appliance by a responsible
caregiver.
• Children must be supervised so as to ensure
that they will not to play with the appliance.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons
and lids should not be placed on the hob
surface, because they can get hot.
Precautions against damage
• Damaged pots or pots with rough bottoms
(unenamelled cast iron pots) may damage
the glass.
• Sand or any abrasive materials may damage
the glass.
• Avoid dropping objects, even small ones, on
the glass.
• Avoid knocking pots against the glass edges.
• Do not put or leave empty pots on the hob.
• Avoid contact of sugar, synthetics or alu-
minium foil with the hot zones. When they
cool down, these substances can cause the
vitroceramic surface to crack or damage it:
switch off the appliance and remove them
from the hot surface immediately (caution:
risk of burns).
• Never put a hot container on the control pa-
nel.
• If there is a drawer under the hob, make sure
the space between the content of the dra-
wer and the bottom of the appliance is large
enough (2 cm) to ensure proper ventilation.
• Never put any flammable object (e.g. spray
cans) into the drawer below the hob. Cutlery
drawers must be heat resistant.
