Chapter 2: Getting Started
2.1 Safety Instructions
WARNING: To avoid serious injury keep baby in safe location while you
prepare scales for weighing. Babies move quickly and may fall off scales if you
get distracted. (Illustration 1 + 2)
WARNING: Place scales on hard level surface. Baby may roll off or fall of
scales and get injured if scale is placed on uneven or soft surface. (Illustration 3)
WARNING: Keep two arms length distance between scales and all other
objects. Baby may pull himself off scales and get injured or grab object and hurt
himself with it.
WARNING: Keep plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use
plastic bag in cribs, beds, carriages or playpens. Plastic bag is not a toy. The thin
film may cling to nose and mouth and prevent breathing.
WARNING: Keep batteries out of reach of babies and small children at all
times. Choke hazard.
WARNING: If a battery has leaked do not touch battery fluid. Clean with dry
cloth and avoid skin contact. Danger of skin irritation and burns.
WARNING: Always replace entire set of batteries. Do not use rechargeable
batteries. Combination of old and new or rechargeable batteries may lead to
explosion and discharge of battery fluid.
NOTICE: Open, close, and put down scales with care to avoid damage to hinge
and scale.
