SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
For equipment covered specifically or indirectly in this instruction book, it is
irnportant that all personnel observe safety precautions to rninfmize the chances of
injury. AmonQ m,:my considerations, the following should particularly be
noted:
1.
Pump casing and associated piping or accessories
may,
even under
normnl operatlng conditions, becornc1 hot enough to cause major skin
burns on contact.
2.
lntomal and external rotating parts of the booster and driving equiprnent
can pro(1uce serious physical injuries. Do not reach into ony openlng ln
the booster whil€�
it
is operating, or while subject to accidentu! starting.
Cover external moving parts witl1 adequate guards.
3.
Disconnect power before doing any work, and avoid bypassing or
rendering 1noperatfve any safety or protective devices.
4.
If booster 1s operated with piping disconnected, place a strong coarse
screen over the in!et.
5.
Stay clear ()f open inlet piping (suction area) nnd the open discharge
blast
6.
Stay clear of tho blast from pressure relief valves and the suction area of
vacuurn relief valves.
7.
Use proper cure and good procedure in handling, lffting, installing,
operating and maintaining the equipment.
8.
Cusing pmssure must not exceecJ 25 psi (172 kpa) gauge. Do not
pressurize v0ntod cavities from an exterrn:1I source, nor restrict tho vents.
9.
When adding to or drawing oil from or otherwise servicing a blower
which has boon purnping toxic, flammable, explosive or othor hazardous
substances, observe 0ppropriate precautions to avoid serious personal
