Activating DTC
Briefly press the button; the DTC indicator
lights in the instrument cluster come on.
Deactivating DTC again
Press the button again; the DTC indicator lights
in the instrument cluster go out.
Deactivating DTC and DSC together
Press the button and hold it down for at least
3 seconds; the DSC indicator lights in the
instrument cluster light up. The stabilising and
traction-improving effects are no longer availa-
ble.
Reactivate DSC a soon as possible in order to
support driving stability.
Reactivating DSC
Briefly press the button; the indicator lights in
the instrument cluster go out.
As a check
If the indicator light is flashing:
DSC or DTC is regulating the propul-
sive and braking forces.
If the indicator lights are on:
Both DTC and DSC have been deac-
tivated at the DTC button.
If the indicator lights are on:
DTC has been activated at the DTC
button.
Malfunction in the driving stability
control systems
These warning lights come on:
The driving stability control systems
and the Run Flat Indicator have failed.
Drive with care, looking at the traffic
situation well ahead, and avoid heavy
brake applications. Have the system
checked as soon as possible.
Indication of the malfunction
described above in certain equipment
versions.
If the warning lights for DSC come on.
DSC including DTC and DBC is mal-
functioning.
The stabilising action and brake-
servo boost are no longer available. The car is
still drivable. Have the system checked as soon
as possible.
Drive-off assistant with
6-cylinder engines
The drive-off assistant enables you to drive off
smoothly on uphill gradients. It is not necessary
to use the parking brake for this.
1. Hold the vehicle in place by pressing the
brake pedal.
2. Release the brake pedal and drive off with-
out delay.
The drive-off assistant holds the vehicle
in place for approx. 2 seconds after the
brake pedal is released. Depending on the vehi-
