Any electrical re-wiring of this appliance must be
done by a qualified electrician. This wiring must
be done in accordance with local codes and/or
in Canada with the current
CSA C22.1

Verify proper operation after servicing. If any of
the original wire as supplied with the appliance
must be replaced, it must be replaced with a
wire of at least a 105º C temperature rating.
INSPECTING BURNERS
IMPORTANT: Owner’s should check pilot flame pattern and burner flame pattern often.
Incorrect flame patterns indicate the need for cleaning (see Care and Maintenance,
page 20) or service.
WARNING: Only a qualified service person should service and
repair heater. This includes maintenance requiring replacement or
alteration of components.
PILOT FLAME PATTERN
Figure 23 shows a correct pilot flame pattern.
Figure 24 shows an incorrect pilot flame
pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not
touching the thermocouple. This will cause
the thermocouple to cool, which shuts the
heater off.

flame pattern shows yellow
tipping,
follow
instructions
below.
Figure 25 shows a correct burner flame
pattern. Figure 26 shows an incorrect burner
flame pattern. The incorrect burner flame
pattern shows yellow tipping of the flame. It
also shows the flame higher than 1/2 the heat
shield height.
