After starting skid steer, lift the

attachment

1. With the skid steer engine RPMs

just

 a

bove

 i

dle, slowly engage the

auxiliary hydraulic flow to the

mulcher.

 U

se your

 m

achine’s

auxiliary hydraulic flow lever or

switch,

 a

ctivate the auxiliary

 f

low

to the mulcher.

2. Allow the mulcher to run for 30

seconds

 

to purge the air from

 

the

system.

 

Ensure

 

that

 

the

 

rotation

is

 

correct. Turn off

 

the mulcher

drive,

 

allowing

 

it

 

to come to a

complete stop.

3. Lower the

 m

ulcher attachment

to

 t

he ground and shut off the

skid steer’s engine and exit the

operator’s compartment.

4. Chec

k t

he skid steers hydraulic oil

level, and add oil

 i

f necessary.

5. Inspect the hydraulic plumbing

for

 a

ny noticeable leaks.

eaks before continuing.

6. Restart

 t

he skid steer.

 W

ith the

attachment

aised off

 t

he ground

and

 t

he engine throttle set

 j

ust

above

 i

dle, engage the drive

circuit. Allow mulcher to speed

 

up

before

 

increasing

 f

low.

Starting the Mulcher

Moving or

engaging the mulcher with

bystanders in the area could result

in Death or Serious Injury. Before

engaging mulcher hydraulics,

always make sure the area is clear

of bystanders.

Engage the mulcher drive hydraulics

with the prime mover’s engine at

 a l

ow

rpm. Slowly

 r

aise the skid steer

engine’s rpm

 t

o the correct

 a

nd desired

speed.

 U

se the skid steer’s hand

throttle to set

 t

he speed; never use a

foot

 t

hrottle when using the mulcher.

If the mulcher ever

creates a vibration when ramping up

speed, turn the mulcher attachment

to the off position and investigate

cause. Refer to the troubleshooting

section in this manual.

Stopping the Mulcher

When stopping the mulcher,

raise the mulcher slightly

 a

nd lower

the skid steer’s engine RPMs to an

idle, and

 a

llow the mulcher to slow

down. After

 t

he mulcher has slowed

down you may

 t

urn the auxiliary

hydraulics to the “off” position.

Getting Familiar with

the Attachment

Never operate  the

mulcher when bystanders are  within

300’ (91 m) of your work area. Flying

debris could result in Death or Serious

Injury.

Be cautious when

operating on un-level ground

surfaces. A machine roll over could

result in Minor or Serious Injury.

Always wear your seat belt when

operating this type of machinery.

Before starting the skid steer engine

with this mulcher attached,

previous and following sections of

his

manual.
