APPLIANCE OPERATION
CAUTION: Before starting the appliance for the first time, read the warnings at the beginning of
the manual.
1. Press the trigger button to switch the appliance on.
2. Blower mode – move the mode switch to the upper position to start the blower mode.
Ensure that the vacuum is directed and used in a safe manner when the blower mode is
selected. Do not direct the air flow from the blower directly or indirectly to another person.
3. Vacuum mode – move the mode switch to the upper position to start the vacuum mode. When the
vacuum mode is selected, air together with leaves and other garden debris is sucked in through a
large vacuum pipe and pushed through a mulching rotor. The debris is shredded and then blown
into the bag for leaves/debris.
IMPORTANT: Always make sure that the bag is properly fastened, according to the “Installation of
the bag for leaves/debris" section in this manual.
Always pay attention to what is drawn into the blower/vacuum pipe. This product is intended
solely for the removal of garden debris, such as leaves, twigs and cuttings.
4. Emptying the bag for leaves/debris – the bag is attached to the blower pipe and housing in 2 points.
There is no need to unplug the bag from the appliance to empty it. The back of the bag has a full-
length zip fastener. Simply open the lock and empty the contents. Fasten the zip before operating
the appliance.
Recommendations:
The following points can help you to use the BV4010 leaf vacuum
• Damp materials are difficult to shred and may cause the appliance shredder blockage.
• If the leaves etc. are damp, use the vacuum in the blower mode to place the leaves etc. in one place,
then vacuum them and shred when dry.
• The leaf vacuum is not a waste disposal device. Do not attempt to mulch any material outside the
typical garden debris.
• Avoid using the vacuum where there are stones or other hard objects. These objects will damage the
rotor of the vacuum blower.
• For better performance and comfort, it is recommended to empty the collection bag when it is
approximately half full. This reduces weight and also allows the vacuum to achieve its top
performance.
• It is also recommended not to collect soil. The soil generally contains moisture and, in combination
with other garden debris, may block the vacuum.
