Standby mode
After approx. 20 seconds after the last activity, the device switches to standby
mode. The display shows "BT DF 311" without background illumination. The
illumination is switched on with every button activity or by an incoming call.
Switch-off
To switch the device off , hold the MF button pressed for 5 seconds until the
display shows "Power Off " and a voice announcement is heard.
Note:
If no connection exists to a cell phone, the BT Drive Free 311 automati-
cally switches off after 10 minutes.
Selecting the language
The BT Drive Free 311 supports voice output (text to speech) in 5 languages
(English, French, Italian, German and Spanish). You receive voice announce-
ments about the device status and hear the name or the phone number of
the caller in case of an incoming call.
To select a diff erent language, hold the MODE button pressed for 3 seconds
in standby mode without Bluetooth connection. You will hear an announce-
ment in the selected language. Repeat the operating step to select the desired
language in the following order: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
Adjusting the volume for voice announcements
In standby mode without Bluetooth connection, you can adjust the volume
for voice announcements with the buttons "+" and "–".
Registering (pairing) and connecting with the cell phone
Before you can use the BT Drive Free 311, you must register and connect it
with a Bluetooth-ready cell phone. The BT Drive Free 311 can be registered
with two phones, but only connected with one phone.
– Hold the BT Drive Free 311 within range of a Bluetooth-ready cell phone;
the distance should not exceed a metre.
– The BT Drive Free 311 must be switched off .
– Hold the MF button pressed for at least 5 seconds until the display shows
"Pairing" and a voice announcement is heard. The device is in registra-
tion mode
– Activate the Bluetooth function of the cell phone and start the search for
Bluetooth devices. (For further details, please read the operating instruc-
tions of your cell phone.). After the search process, the display of the cell
phone shows a list of devices.
