Resetting the handheld
On rare occasions, your handheld may report an internal handheld error message,
instructing you to press
“
R
”
to reset. Doing so will return your handheld to normal
operation after a few minutes. Try sending yourself a message and verify on the
Status screen that all the information has been properly restored to your handheld.
A reset hole is located on the back of your handheld. Usually, you would not need
to reset your handheld using the reset hole. However, if your handheld “locks up”
(no longer responds when you press keys or use the trackwheel), you can use this
method to reset your handheld. You can insert one end of a paper clip in the reset
hole to press the reset button, which will restart and restore your handheld to
Microsoft
Exchange
If you are using the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector to forward your email
messages to your handheld, you must close it before removing the desktop
software.
