MGP-1A Advanced Modeling Guide

AC-30 Top Boost

This is based on the AC-30 Top Boost. The tone stack was a 2 control model which has a very unique
response. We’ve added a midrange control but the authentic tone comes from the Mid set at ‘2-3’.

NOTE:

Reissue models come with Celestion Alnico Blue speakers.

You can get some of the AC-120 tones (with the “Harmonic Equalization” and Distortion off) by

using the AC-30 Top Boost Model with Alt EQ engaged. The original used EL34 power tubes and
2 x 12” MacKenzie drivers.
