2. Introduction

2.1 About This Manual

This manual describes the installation, operation, and configuration of the
External ADSL USB Modem.  It also outlines the use of the Control Panel
application program.

The following chapters are included in this manual:

• Chapter 1, Specifications, lists the specifications for the Modem.

• Chapter 2, Introduction offers a brief description of ADSL, protocol and

device driver selection, features, and package contents of the Modem.

• Chapter 3, Software Installation, provides detailed steps for installing the three

types of device drivers: WAN, LAN, and ATM. 

• Chapter 4, Customizing Communication Settings, describes screen steps to

change VPI, VCI, Encapsulation, and Modulation settings.

• Chapter 5, Control Panel Application, describes how to configure and check

the performance of the Modem and the ADSL connection.

• Chapter 6, Software Uninstall, describes screen steps for removing Modem

software.

• Chapter 7, Modifying TCP/IP Networking Options, presents screen steps for
