Chapter 4: Operating Instructions

4.0 Operating Instructions

Please read these operating instructions carefully. They contain important advice
concerning the use and safety of your Laptop Locker 2. The Laptop Locker 2 must
only be used for its intended purpose in accordance with these operating
instructions.

•  Do not use liquids in or around the Laptop Locker 2 environment.

•  Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Self-repairs are not covered by warranty.

Return the unit to Black Box.

•  The Laptop Locker 2 should only be used for the storage and charging of laptops

(if appropriate cables are run by user) and other similar devices.

•  No more than 35 pounds should be applied to the door when it is used as a work

surface. Applying more than 35 pounds will void the warranty. Please do not allow
anyone to lean on the door.

•  Misuse, incorrect operation, or inadequate repair of the LTL-2 will void the

warranty.

Using your Laptop Locker 2

•  After inspecting the entire unit, you must adjust the door to accommodate the

type of use that is desired.

•  Installing the PEM

®

fasteners in the top notches on the side of the unit will allow

the door to only open enough to slide a laptop in and out of the unit. Place the
foam padding inside the locker to protect the laptop.

•  Once the laptop is placed in the unit, run the adapter end of the power cord

through the grommet on the bottom of the unit and through the cable
management cut-out on the back of the door. Then plug the cable into the laptop
and plug the power supply into an approved outlet.

Locking your Laptop Locker 2

•  Key lock unit: Close the unit and turn the key to the left to lock the unit.

•  Electronic unit: Close the unit and turn the lever on the electronic lock down and

to the right and the unit will automatically lock. More electronic lock instructions
are included with unit.

•  Hasp lock unit: Close the unit and slide the hasp lock (not included) hook through

the hasp on the locker. Close the hasp lock.
