including media conver-
sion, mode conversion, bandwidth manage-
ment and switching media conversion mod-
ules. Each chassis in the
Media Converter
System II
Series features an SNMP-manage-
ment agent embedded directly into the
backplane which eliminates the need to
purchase, install and configure a separate
management module.

Installing Media Converter System II
Before installing an
SNMP Module
into a
Media Converter System II
chas-
sis, install the chassis first. When installing the chassis, be sure to observe the
following precautions to prevent electrical or mechanical damage:
•
Stay within the chassis power rating to prevent overload of supply
circuits or damage to overcurrent protection and supply wiring.
•
Maintain reliable earth ground, especially when connecting to a
power strip instead of directly to a branch circuit.
•
Protect your chassis from exposure to sunlight and electrical or
magnetic fields.
•
Ensure that the equipment rack remains stable, even with the
addition of the chassis and its associated cabling.
