USING THE LED AREA LIGHT

The LED Area Light is controlled by the Area Light ON/OFF Push button on the
top panel of the unit (see page 6). Make sure the LED Area Light is turned OFF
when the unit is being recharged or stored.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

This product has sealed lead acid batteries that should be kept fully charged.
Recharge before first use, immediately after each use, or at least once a month
if not in frequent use. Failure to do this may reduce the battery life dramatically.

Note: This unit is delivered in a partially charged state – you must fully
charge it before using it for the first time. Initial AC charge should be for 15
hours.

Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get
inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.

IMPORTANT:

To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance

and adjustment (other than those listed in this manual) should be performed by
authorized service centers or other qualified service personnel, always using
identical replacement parts.

CHARGING/RECHARGING

For maximum battery life, we recommend the unit be kept fully charged at all
times. To charge this unit, use only the supplied AC Charging Adapter or the
built-in 12 Volt DC Adapter Plug.

Note: Recharging battery after each use will prolong battery life; frequent heavy
discharges between recharges and/or overcharging will reduce battery life.

beep once and the red Power LED Indicator and Battery Status LED Indicator
will light.

DC Charging Port at the top of the unit (

see “Controls and Indicators” on page 6)

3. Plug the other end of the cord into a standard North American 120 volt AC
wall outlet.
4. Press the Recharge Unit Push button. The unit will beep once again and the
Battery Status LED Indicator will

flash green

5. When the Vehicle Boost LED Indicator stops flashing and

(generally, after approximately

15 minutes), the

Turn the vehicle

ignition and crank the engine in 5-6 second bursts until engine starts.
6. After use, turn the

BB7B

OFF by pressing the ON/OFF Power Push button

and recharge the unit as soon as possible so it is ready for the next

recharging, the 12 Volt DC Outlet is in use, or if the 12 Volt DC Outlet cover
is open. Some vehicles require that the car be started in order to use the
12 volt DC accessory outlet. Simply turn the ignition switch to the
accessory position before connecting the Simple Start

.

• Make sure the unit is disconnected from all charging power sources
before beginning the jump-starting procedure.
• Use this power system ONLY on vehicles with 12 volt DC battery systems
and negatively-grounded vehicles.
