operation
KNG portable operation and functionality is determined and may be affected by PC or keypad programming,
the radio’s installed firmware version and factory installed options. Current available firmware can be
downloaded from the service section at www.relm.com. Factory installed options are referenced on the back
of the radio. The following list includes options available at the time of printing. Contact RELM Wireless or
your BK Radio dealer for information on factory installed option.

3.1 BaSic operation
Full keypad models maybe programmed with a six digit Power Up password.
Use the number keys to enter the password. Press the ENT button to begin normal radio operation.

1. Turn power on by turning the Volume knob clockwise.
2. Enter the Power Up Password if necessary.
3. The LCD display shows the programmed information of the currently
selected channel. Programmable channel information options include channel
number, channel label and channel frequency.

4. Select a channel by rotating the Channel Selector knob.
5. Open the squelch to adjust the volume
(Open squelch can be achieved by selecting the programmed Monitor function.)

When a signal is received, the unprogrammable top line of the display indicates
the current channel’s operating mode. RXA = analog, RXD = digital.
