Adjusting the MD350 portable cutting machine
1. Adjusting the trapezoidal belt tension
Check the instruction provided above in the ”Tightening the trapezoidal belt”
section.
2. Adjusting the carburetor
The carburetor has been preset and factory adjusted to provide an optimum mixture of fuelair, for
an efficient, reliable operation of the motor, with reduced emissions. The air filter and spark plug must be inspected and maintained
periodically. If the angle grinder is found to be working unsatisfactorily (such as idling, excessive or insufficient speed or the persistence
of abnormal noxae), a slight adjustment of the carburetor may be necessary, including (ref. Fig. 9):
a. Standard setting adjustment Find the low speed adjustment Screw ”L” (see Fig. 9) within the upper slot
of the carburetor cover, with the help of a screwdriver turn the L screw clockwise full torque. Afterwards,
turn the L screw back (counterclockwise) to 360o. b. Idling speed adjustment: Usually, an idling speed
adjustment is necessary after the Standard setting adjustment (a), in order to adjust the idling speed, first
start the motor. • If the idling speed is too low, the motor may stop after start-up. In this case, first perform
the standard setting, according to the instruction in section (a), then turn the LA screw, which adjusts the
idling speed, clockwise (see Fig. 9) within the inner slot on the carburetor cover until the disc starts to
rotate. Afterwards, turn the LA screw back (counterclockwise) to a quarter circle (90o). • If the idle speed is
too high, the disc will operate at idling speed, which is not good for the angle grinder. In this case, first
perform the standard setting, then turn the LA screw, which adjusts the idling speed, counterclockwise
until the disc stops its rotation. Then turn the LA screw in excess of 90o (counterclockwise).
3. Adjusting the disc guard (ref. Fig. 10)
The Disc Guard (1)
protects the operator from sparks. In order to adjust its position, first unfasten
the Disc Guard Positioning Button (2), the move the disc guard to the desired
position by hand. Finally, tighten the Positioning Button (2) in order to continue
working

1. Air filter cleaning and maintenance
The dust accumulated on the air filter may
impair the motor performance, may increase fuel consumption and may hinder start-up.
Therefore, it is important that maintenance is performed on a regular basis. Its frequency
depends on the cutting work conditions, on the wet or dry cutting of the material (see the
maintenance diagram (See Fig. 11).
1. Bring the choke valve handle to the position 2. Press down the button (12) on the oil filter cap (1), then turn to remove the oil filter (2).
Clean the filter, then refill with motor oil for the gasoline-powered motor. After drying, assemble correctly. 3. Rear anchor the lamellar spring
(11) in the middle of the slot behind the handling frame, and the filter (3) will open automatically. Remove pre-filter I (5), pre-filter (II) one by
one, then unfasten the 4 screws (7) and remove the filter casing (8), the paper air filter (9), the filter inner fabric (10). 4. Inspect and, if
damaged, replace the paper air filter and the sponge (pre-filter). 5. Clean the filter.
Clean the paper filter and the filter fabric: Shake the paper air filter or strike it to the ground so as to remove the dust, or use high pressure air
(not exceeding 207kPa, 2.1 kgf/cm2) to blow the air out. Do not use a brush for cleaning, as dust will enter the paper filter fibers. Clean the
pre-filter: Use warm water and detergent or non-flammable solvent to was the prefilter (sponge). Rinse and let dry.
6. Dust the inner casing with a clean cloth. 7. Replace defective parts. Reinstall the parts and close the filter cap. 8. When cutting dry
concrete or materials that generate a lot of dust, it is recommended that you clean the oil filter components after each hour of operation.
Remark: Do not use the motor without a filter, nor when the filter is damaged or when dirt enters the motor. The operation of the motor in
such conditions will quicken motor failure, and failures caused by such circumstances are excluded from the warranty.
