Parking brake/parking:
As soon as the wheelchair has stopped, push both brake levers forward.
(see Chapter 6.8.1). The wheelchair is securely braked when it can no
longer be pushed and both brake levers are pushed forward to the stop
position.
Pull the lever towards you to release the brake (see Chapter 6.8.1).
Drum brake:
As an option, the wheelchair can be fitted with a drum brake which
can only be operated by an attendant using the brake levers on the
push handles
2.6. Purpose
The wheelchair is designed to increase the mobility only for adults
who have difficulty walking with the indications specified (see Chapter
2.7). The maximum user weight of 120 kg for the S-VR must not be
exceeded.
Please note:
We can only provide a warranty if the product is used under the
conditions specified and for the intended purposes.
2.7. Indications
Provision of a wheelchair is intended for adults who are unable to walk
or who have severely impaired mobility, e.g. through:
•
paralysis
•
loss of limb
•
defect/deformity of limb
•
joint contractions (not on both arms)
•
joint damage (not in both arms)
•
other illnesses.
Provision of reinforced wheelchairs with backrest adjustment up
to 30 degrees is advised, if the body weight of the wheelchair user
exceeds 90 kg, normal wheelchairs no longer offer the required
safety and because of the disability, an almost horizontal position
must be adopted or is necessary from time to time.
2.8. Contraindications
The provision of a wheelchair is unsuitable for persons with:
•
no capability to sit
•
joint damage/contractions on both arms
•
perceptual disorders
•
severe equilibrium disorders
•
loss of limbs on both arms
•
impaired or insufficient vision
•
strongly impaired cognitive abilities
2.9. Declaration of conformity
We Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH declare under our sole responsibility, that
the S-VR wheelchair meets all the requirements of MDR 2017/745
that are applicable.
2.10. Liability
We can only provide a warranty if
•
the product is used under the conditions specified and for the
intended purpose.
•
Modifications, enhancements, repairs and maintenance work is
carried out only by those individuals who have been authorised by
us to do so, and
•
the wheelchair is used in accordance with the instructions for use.
2.11. Service life
The expected product service life is up to 5 years. Prerequisites for
this are proper use as well as compliance with the safety, care and
maintenance information in accordance with this Instruction manual.
