As  a  general  rule,  use  the  following  equation  to  estimate  the  maximum  heart  rate  for 
users with healthy hearts:  

 
Maximum Heart Rate = 220 - user age in years  
 
For  example,  for  a  heart-healthy,  30-year-old,  the  Maximum  Heart  Rate 
would be: 220 - 30 = 190 beats per minute  

CAUTION:

 When the BioStep 2 is prescribed for therapeutic purposes, maximum 

heart rate, as well as other fitness measurements, should be defined by a
