CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, switch off the instrument and unplug the power cable from the power outlet. Use only alcohol or mild
detergents. Do not use abrasive products or acids to avoid ruining the varnished or plastic parts. A plastic spatula can
be used to remove paraffin residue. The paraffin collection cassette, placed on the front, must be emptied daily.
The instrument does not need to be sterilized as the handling of fresh samples is not expected, only of histological
samples fixed and embedded in paraffin.
Maintenance
Periodic annual maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel authorized by Bio-Optica. For information,
please contact the Technical Assistance Service at Tel. 02-21271310.
Fuse replacement
If the instrument does not switch on, check that the power cable has been connected properly, that there is current in
the mains, and that the two fuses below the instrument’s power socket are not burnt. If necessary, change them with
fuses of identical value.
Fuse holder power socket (No. 2 x 4 Ampere delayed fuses - T4AH250V).
Replacement method: switch off the instrument and unplug the power cable from the power outlet. Apply light pressure
on the plastic casing covering the fuses under the power input (if necessary, using a small screwdriver), replace the
fuses, close the casing and check that the instrument switches on.
