4.3. Balancing
The BMS balances the cells during and after charging process. The required balancing
times are determined automatically. Optionally, a discharge-charge cycle, in which the
cell capacities are newly determined, is required for the error-free determination of indi-
vidual cell capacities.
4.4 Discharge
The BMS switches off the output voltage when the final discharge voltage is reached.
Protective functions of temporary, reversible or permanent faults and short-circuit
detection are not affected by this!
After complete discharge, charge the battery system
soon
(within 7 days) to avoid a
deep discharge.
Successful completion of discharge process:
When the discharge end voltage is reached, the flags FD and TD are set.

Limits
TD
Terminate Discharge
Set: 2.2 V or 6 % SOC
Reset: 3.1 V or 8 % SOC
FD
Fully Discharged
Set: 2.2 V or 0 % SOC
Reset 3.1 V or 5 % SOC
Note:
Under extreme conditions e.g. at particularly low or high temperatures, the charging and
discharging behavior in conjunction with your application should be checked. The cell
characteristic leads to a different voltage behavior of the cells.
