Connection
The MC 834 is
equipped with a 3-pin XLR-plug. The micro-
phone can be connected to any microphone input with phantom
supply (12 - 48 V). For available cables refer to the section “Optional
Accessories”.
Setting up and Use
• When the microphone is used for close vocal miking we recommend
using the
PS 740
pop shield. Fix this to the microphone shaft with
the clamp which will hold the PS 740 in position. Adjust the screen
to approx. 50 mm from the microphone head which is the optimum
distance for this type of use.
• For outdoors use the
WS 740
wind screen should be fitted on the
microphone basket.
• Delivery of the MC 834 includes the
EA 37
elastic suspension.
Adjusting the pre-attenuation
Without pre-attenuation (0 dB)
the MC 834 has a maximum
SPL of 130 dB. At higher SPLs a pre-attenuation of 10 dB or 20 dB can
be adjusted with the knurled knob at the front of the microphone
(indicating -10 dB or -20 dB).
Adjusting the high-pass filter
The microphone is
equipped on the rear with a two stage
high-pass filter switch, which attenuates the low-frequency response
at either 80 Hz or 160 Hz by 6 dB per octave.
