Set the HP-IB address of t he EconoPac to a num ber which is not on the
list of disk drives, ( i.e., 3).

Connect t he EconoPac t o t he syst em if it is not already connect ed and
power it on.

Run
ioscan -f
again.

Create t he device special files for t he EconoPac by typing the t wo
following com m ands:
cd /dev
insf

again to determine t he LU num ber assigned to t he
EconoPac.
