Note

: It is the installers responsibility to ensure

that  the  correct  information  is  provided  to  the
roofing contractor and the correct type of ridge
tile  is  fitted.    If  you  experience  any  difficulties
or  are  using  any  other  roof  tile  manufacturer
please  contact  the  Gledhill Technical  Helpline
on 01253 474444.

Air  for  combustion  must  effectively  be  taken
from  outside. Typically,  combustion  air  will  be
drawn from a ventilated roof space.

A ventilated loft space complying with section F
of the Building Regulations 1995 (See Approved
Document L2) will be adequate but other options
are possible. If further information is required or
if there is any doubt regarding the adequacy of
combustion  air  supply,  Gledhill Technical  Dept.
should  be  consulted.  Combustion  air  must  not
be drawn from within the building.

The  appliance  location  itself  should  have  been
chosen to comply with the relevant requirements
of the GulfStream

A-CLASS

 Design Installation and

Servicing Instructions.

The  concentric  flue  pipe  used  in  the  appliance
cupboard  means  that  the  flue  can  be  safely
touched  or  clothes/towels  etc.  can  be  stored
next to the flue and can pass into the roof space
close to combustible material without any extra
protection/insulation being required.

The  single  flue  pipes  within  the  roof  space
will become warm and any flammable material
should not be stored adjacent to or on the flue
pipes.

The  ridge  terminal  must  not  be  closer  than
25mm to any combustible material, see diagram
opposite.

If  a  single  flue  pipe  is  run  through  a  timber
wall  or  a  cupboard,  or  via  a  roof  space  with
wooden  rafters

ensure  a  25mm  gap  is  left

around  the  flue  pipe,  or  provide  suitable
insulation.

 Recommendations on protection of

combustible material are given in BS5440 : Part
2 : Clause 20.
