INSTALLATION
3.01
Exercise care not to damage line switch on
early models of 1554B sets without line switch
guard when drilling or driving screw in mounting
hole.
4.
MAINTENANCE
4.01
Replaceable Apparatus
(Refer to Table B
for component ordering guide.): Component
parts should be maintained in accordance with
section covering the particular item.
4.02
To remove housing on 1554B telephone set:
(1}
Remove number card holder and number
card with KS-16750L2 releaser.
(2) Loosen captive screws located beneath
number card.
(3) Remove housing.
(4) To replace housing reverse procedure.
4.03
Plungers, operating bracket switch, and line
switch shall move freely without binding or
squeaking.
•
Clean with KS-2423 cloth moistened with
KS-7860 petroleum spirits.
•
Lubricate plungers and bearing surfaces with
No. 2 or softer graphite pencil.
•
Clean line switch contacts when required
with 265C tool.
•
Replace set if other trouble exists in line
switch assembly.
