The Fan Tray Module
The TLX48 2RU uses
3 DC fans
located in one modular, hot-swappable fan tray designed for easy
replacement without interrupting system functionality. The Fan Tray introduces air into the chassis through
air baffles along the chassis side panel. This cools the horizontally mounted I/O Cards, the Control Cards
and the backplane.
Do not allow the TLX48 to operate without a Fan Tray for more than 90 seconds
.
The Annunciator Module
The hot-swappable Annunciator Module is equipped with a ten-port terminal for
system alarms
which can
be configured to trigger an external control system (adapter included) and an
external DIP Switch
for
setting IP addresses. See pg.
. The module also features air baffles for additional output ventilation.
Note: Always ensure the DIP Switch settings on a replacement Annunciator Module match
the settings on the removed Annunciator Module or a desired new setting.
Critical Hardware Alarms:
The dry alarm contacts are
Normally Closed
when unpowered,
Normally
Open
when powered (OK condition) and Closed for an alarm condition.
Maximum switching capacity is 2A at 12V.
All fan speeds are monitored and any that do not meet specification will cause an alarm condition.
The temperature in the chassis is continuously monitored for any anomalous conditions by internal
sensors in the Power Supply(s), Fan Tray and on the Control Card(s) and the I/O Card(s).

Temperature Shutdown
– The upper limit is
65°C
(149°F)
by default. This feature can be
enabled or disabled, with disabled being the default state. To enable the
High Temperature Shutdown
feature, modify
/etc/default/tlxcntl
as shown below:

Power cycle the TLX-48 2RU or use command
systemctl restart tlxcntl.
