Operation
Summary
The
top
line of text identifies the current source and should be identical to the matching entry in
the ‘Status’ column of the display. The
middle
line identifies the preset source and should be
identical to the matching entry in the ‘Preset’ column of the display. If there is no ‘Take’ pending,
the preset fields will be blank, both in the display and on the buttons. The
bottom
row of text
shows a level for the current destination and should be identical to the matching entry in the
‘Level/Dest’ column of the display.
If the current destination had a breakaway, the sources will be different across the levels. If the
destination does not include a particular level, that button will be dark, but it will show the level
name, as is the case with ‘HD’, and ‘Timecode’ here. (Audio 3 is available but not selected and is
therefore low-tally.)
Level buttons for which there is no level defined remain blank. Lines in the display for which
there is no level defined also remain blank.
Level Mapping
If a level was level-mapped, the display shows a plus sign next to the level name.
See
on page 58 for usage information.
Virtual Level Expand and Contract
If the levels for a particular device belong to a virtual level group, you can collapse the display of
levels to its minimal possible representation (just the group names) or expand the display of the
levels so that all individual levels are displayed.
Use the ‘Virtual Levels Contract’ button to collapse the list of levels. Use the ‘Virtual Levels
Expand’ button to expand the list of levels.
See
on page 52.
MD Devices
In multi-destination (MD) mode, a set of selection buttons presents a set of MD devices. To
perform an MD take, you assign sources to as many MD devices as you like and then press ‘Take’.
The multiple takes occur simultaneously. Call these “dest” buttons for the sake of simplicity.
To assign a source to an MD destination, select the destination using a selection button and
locate and press a source button. You might have to scroll the display to find the MD destination
of interest. (In hold mode, you can assign a source to several MD destinations at once.)
In this example, the displays shows that two sources, CAM--4 and CAM--5, were preset to 2 desti-
nations, VTR--2 and VTR--3, respectively:
