INSTALLATION AND OPERATION GUIDE
Configuring the XIP-3901-UDC-IP Application
92 | XIP-3901
Senders Panel
The Senders panel has three tabs (
UDC1
,
UDC2
, and
Advanced
);
UDC1
and
UDC2
are for each of
XIP-3901-UDC-
IP’s independent processing UHD channels. The
Advanced
tab allows you to configure the
outgoing payload type and DSCP priority.
The XIP-3901-UDC-IP provides an additional HD output for monitoring purposes of the first processing path
’s
video (UDC1) when the secondary processing path UDC2 is also configured to provide an HD Output. While the
maximum output bandwidth is 25 Gbps, c
ertain stream format combinations can oversubscribe the card’s output
bandwidth.
Table
1
– Selecting the resolution and number of video streams to remain within the XIP-3901-UDC-IP’s output
network bandwidth capacity
Video Output Stream
Required Network Bandwidth
UDC1: Video 1
UHD: 12 Gbps
HD: 3 Gbps
Disabled: 0 Gbps
UDC2: Video 2 (Monitoring)
HD: 3 Gbps
Disabled: 0 Gbps
UDC2: Video 1
UHD: 12 Gbps
HD: 3 Gbps
Disabled: 0 Gbps
Output stream formats must be chosen in the
UDC1
and
UDC2
tabs such that the total effective bandwidth of the
combined video streams is 24 Gbps or less, as bandwidth must be set aside for audio and ancillary (
Meta
) stream
bandwidth also. Streams can be disabled by deselecting
Master
for the corresponding stream (see below).
When the XIP-3901-UDC-IP
’s maximum output bandwidth is oversubscribed (total streams require more than the
available 25 Gbps bandwidth), the symptoms are that of packet loss: missing blocks of video, audio dropout, and
random loss of ancillary data on both processing channels.
10.5.1 UDC1 Tabs
This tab allows you to configure the
destination media’s video format, audio channels, and the SMPTE ST 2110
output stream
’s IP addresses and port numbers for the first processing channel (
UDC1
).
The
UDC1
processing channel can:
Send up to two SMPTE 2110-20 video streams (
Video 1
and
Video 2
).
o
Video 1
is the main up / down conversion video stream.
o
Video 2 (Monitoring)
is an additional HD Monitoring output. For example, when a lower
bandwidth video monitoring output feed is required for equipment that cannot directly make use of
a 4K UHD video stream being sent by
Video 1
.
Video 2 (Monitoring)
is optionally available:
On the
UDC1
processing channel only.
When
Video
in the
UDC2
processing channel has also been configured to provide an HD
output video stream format.
1 on page 92 for more information.
Send full ancillary space on one SMPTE 2110-40 metadata stream (
Meta 1
)
Send 4 audio streams (
Audio 1
to
Audio 4
)
o
Audio 1 can send up to 64 processed audio channels.
o
Audio 2 to 4 can send up to 64 audio channels, but only audio channels 1 to 16 are processed
audio channels. Audio channels 17 to 64 will contain silence.
