ULTRABASS BX1200
2. CONTROL ELEMENTS
With the SHAPE button
activated, use the
SHAPE
control to modify the sound of the filter on channel 2.
+
The SHAPE filter is available on channel 2 only and
has no effect on channel 1.
The
IN
button activates the SHAPE filter: the LED above the
button lights up.
The
BASS
control in the EQ section allows you to boost or
cut the bass frequencies.
With the
LOW MID
control you can boost/cut the low
midrange frequencies.
The
HIGH MID
control adjusts the boost/cut of the upper
midrange frequencies.
The
TREBLE
control allows you to boost/cut the upper
treble range on your BX1200.
Use the sub-harmonics processor (button
pressed)
to add ultra-low bass signals by turning the
ULTRABASS
control. The processing intensity is displayed by the LED
above the control. Unlike the SHAPE filter, the ULTRABASS
circuit is effective on both channels.
Press the
IN
button to switch on the sub-harmonics
processor: the LED above the button lights up.
Use the
MASTER
control to set the overall volume of your
BX1200.
Press the
POWER
switch to switch on the BX1200.
+
Please take note: Merely switching the unit off does
not mean that it is fully disconnected from the
mains. When not using the unit for prolonged
periods of time, please unplug the units power
cord from the power outlet.

FUSE HOLDER / VOLTAGE SELECTOR
. Please make
sure that your local voltage matches the voltage indicated
on the unit, before you attempt to connect and operate the
BX1200. Blown fuses may only be replaced by fuses of
the same type and rating. Some models allow for inserting
the fuse holder in two different positions, in order to switch
over from 230 V to 120 V operation, and vice versa. Please
note that for 120 V operation outside Europe, you need to
use a fuse of a higher rating (see chapter 5 INSTALLATION).
Use the enclosed power cord to connect the unit to the
mains.
SERIAL NUMBER
. Please take the time to have the warranty
card filled out completely by your specialized dealer, and
return it within 14 days after the date of purchase, so as to
be entitled to benefit from our extended warranty. Or use
our online registration option available on the World Wide
Web under www.behringer.com.
Use the balanced
DIRECT OUT
XLR output to feed the
audio signal from your ULTRABASS to an external mixing
console. The DIRECT OUT signal is post-EQ.
The
TUNER OUT
provides a GAIN and EQ-independent
input signal for connection to a tuner.
Use the
AMP IN
to feed in the output signal from an external
bass amplifier.
The
PREAMP OUT
allows you to drive an external bass
amplifier.
+
The AMP IN and PREAMP OUT connectors can also
be used to insert an external effects device such
as our BEHRINGER VIRTUALIZER PRO DSP2024P.
Simply connect the PREAMP OUT to the input, and
the AMP IN to the output of the effects unit.
The 1/4" stereo jack allows you to monitor the BX1200s
audio signal with a pair of headphones. Connecting the
headphones will mute the built-in speaker.
Use the
SPEAKER
jack to connect an external bass
cabinet. If this cabinet features an audio output you can
add further cabinets in a series configuration.
+
External bass cabinets should have a sufficient
power rating and preferably an impedance of 4
ohms to avoid speaker damage.
The
TAPE OUT
(cinch) supplies the audio signal of your
ULTRABASS, for example to send it to a recording machine.
The
TAPE IN
(cinch) allows you to connect an external
signal source such as a drum computer or other machine
providing audio playbacks.
Connect your foot pedal to the
FOOTSWITCH
jack to select
either of the two channels on your BX1200 or to enable/
disable the sub-harmonics processor.
