Product Overview
The EUROCOM MA6480A is a professional rack-mountable
power amplifier for installed sound applications in
commercial settings such as hospitality, retail, fitness,
business, and education. Incorporating BEHRINGER’s
exclusive DualDrive technology, the MA6480A is powered
by two independent mono amplifiers, one with a high
impedance output that may be set to either 70 or 100 V,
and the other with a standard low-impedance output.
This uniquely versatile configuration enables easy
installation and setup of hybrid multi-zone systems
combining distributed and low-impedance speakers,
making the MA6480A an innovative yet practical solution
for a broad range of installed sound environments.
The MA6480A includes two channels for balanced or
unbalanced input from line-level sources or microphones,
either standard or phantom powered. Both channels
accept input via XLR/TRS (1/4-inch) combination jacks.
Additionally, channel 2 accepts input from a 3-pin
Euroblock connector, and channel 1 accepts input from
4-pin Euroblock connector with a control pin. Channel 1
also has a priority mode switch that selects between
always-on, voice-activated, or control-pin activated.
The channel 2 input can be muted whenever the channel
1 input is active. The level at which each channel is
sent to the two power amplifiers is set with individual
front-panel level controls. The power amplifier outputs for
both high- and low-Z appear on a single 4-pin Euroblock
connector. The MA6480A also includes a 5-pin Euroblock
for remote control.
The MA6480A front panel includes a master level
(main mix) knob that is surrounded by an indicator ring
that glows yellow when the unit is powered and flashes
red at the onset of clipping. A 3-band fully-parametric EQ
is provided to optimize the output for any environment.
Also included is an LED meter indicating the output level
to the power amplifiers.
MA6480A operation is both cool and extraordinarily
energy-efficient thanks to transformerless Class-D
amplifiers that utilize switch-mode power supplies.
The amplifiers deliver 240 W into low-Z loads of 4 Ω and
high-Z outputs of 70 or 100 V. A balance control adjusts
the relative output of the two amps. Each amplifier is
protected with DC and thermal overload protection,
as well as by automatic limiting that prevents overload,
clipping, and distortion.
Well-suited to any installed power amp application,
the EUROCOM MA6480A makes a perfect complement

amp channels simultaneously for both high-Z and low-Z
