Positioning for your Ümi
The Ümi should be placed in an elevated position, e.g. on a table, stand, etc., at least 3 feet
off the floor. Keep away from doors and windows. Do not point the mist outlet directly at
plants
,
electrical socket or other objects. Keep a distance of at least 20 inches (50 cm).
Filling the Tank
1.
Remove the tank from the base and place the tank upside down.
2.
Unscrew the tank cap.
3.
Rinse the tank and fill it with cold tap water.
4.
Place the cap back in its place and make sure you tighten it well. This is IMPORTANT to
prevent leaks that could result in floor or furniture damage.
5.
Replace the tank on the base. Wait a few seconds for the water to flow to the base.
6.
Connect the power cord and press the ON/OFF Button.
7.
Guide the mist in the desired direction with the 360° mist outlet.
8.
To avoid the presence of bacteria in the tank, it is recommended to renew the water
daily. Rinse the tank well each time you change the water.
9.
Control your Ümi with the buttons as described in the Control Panel Operation section.
10.
Essential Oil Diffuser:
•
Pour a few drops of essential oil into essential oil diffuser cup located in the Ümi base.
To access, lift the water tank.
•
Never pour essential oil directly into the water tank or chimney.
•
Consult your physician for advice on suitable essential oils for your child’s age.
•
Keep essential oils out of children’s reach.
•
Consult your physician immediately if swallowed.
MAINTENANCE
It is important to regularly clean the Ümi to prevent the growth of bacteria in the tank and in
the fog diffuser, but especially to ensure that it operates for a long time and efficiently. Before
servicing the Ümi, make sure it is unplugged and cooled.
•
Wipe the humidifier with a soft damp cloth or sponge. Allow it to air dry.
•
Clean the water tank once a week. Using a mixture of 1 teaspoon of bleach to 1 gal. (4 L)
of water, fill the tank at least halfway and swirl the solution around so that the entire inside
is coated. Rinse with water and allow to air dry.
•
Remove the base regularly. Pour pure white vinegar into the base. Let sit for 30 minutes
while you clean all the internal surfaces using a soft brush. Do not press directly on the
transducer. Empty the vinegar into the sink, rinse with clean hot water.
•
Before storing, empty the water tank, and any water in the base. Ensure
all parts are completely dry, then loosen the cap to prevent the joint from sticking.
WARNINGS
Please take important precautions when using an electrical device, especially when a child is
present. Please keep the Ümi out of children’s reach.
Always keep the humidifier upright and make sure
that the tank cap is closed properly to avoid all risks
of water leakage

Make sure the voltage rating of the Ümi matches that in your home.
•
NEVER immerse the Ümi, its cord or plug in water or any liquid
•
Never use the Ümi for any use other than that for which it was designed.
•
If the Ümi, its plug or cord become damaged, unplug it immediately and stop using.
Repairs must be made by a qualified technician.
•
The Ümi contains no parts for maintenance by the user. Do not disassemble it.
•
Never use the Ümi with no water in the tank.
•
Never add detergent, chemicals or fragrances in the tank. Always use fresh cold water.
•
Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter top.
•
Place the Ümi on a flat and stable surface out of direct sunlight.
•
Do no place on or near a hot surface or near an electrical or gas radiator.
•
Never touch the transducer with your hands or a metal object. Never move the Ümi when it
contains water or when it is turned on.
•
Do not leave water in the tank for long periods; this can lead to the proliferation of bacteria.
•
Always unplug the Ümi when not in use, before cleaning it or storing it.
•
The Ümi has been designed for domestic use, do not use outdoors.
•
The Ümi is intended for use by a responsible adult.
•
Children must be supervised and must not be permitted to play with the Ümi.
•
Do not remove the water tank while the Ümi is switched on.
•
To avoid leakage of water from the base, we recommend never closing the tank while
there is water present in the base.
•
Please note that having the Ümi to close to the floor may result in water accumulation
and can cause damage to the surface. Make sure you monitor the area regularly.
