Infusion Complete (Switch to KVO)
When the volume remaining reaches zero, the pump automatically
enters a
KVO
(Keep Vein Open) alert mode (Figure 4-99).
During this alert mode, the pump continues infusing at a preconfigured
KVO rate or at the programmed rate, whichever is less. See
“Configurable Options,” 6-1.
To exit the alert, press the
STOP
key on the appropriate pump channel
and:
„
program the pump for the next infusion if appropriate,
„
place the channel in standby, or
„
power off the pump.

Note:
Standby (Triple
Channel Pumps)
For triple channel pumps: If other channels are being
used, this pump channel should be placed in Standby
mode so that a
Channel Stopped
alert will not be
activated.
Note: Do not cut the tubing to remove the administration set
from the channel. If the tubing is cut, remove the slide
clamp immediately.
