Frequently Asked Questions
Question
Answer
How can you tell if the Wi-Fi Power
Point Controller is successfully
paired with my router?
If you are successfully paired the light on the
Wi-Fi Power Point Controller will stay lit.
What if I change or update my
router?
You will need to reconfigure your Wi-Fi Power
Point Controller to work with your new router, by
following the steps on page 8.
From what distance can I control
the Wi-Fi Power Point Controller?
You can control your Wi-Fi Power Point
Controller from any location in the world, as long
as your iOS / Android device can access the
internet through
Wi-Fi or 4G/3G network.
Why has my Wi-Fi Power
Point Controller turned off
unexpectedly?
Your Wi-Fi network may have turned off. Please
check and restart your wireless router, then
power-on the Wi-Fi Power Point Controller.
What appliances are suitable to
use with the Wi-Fi Power Point
Controller?
The Wi-Fi Power Point Controller will work with
any home appliance that currently plugs into a
power point and draws under 2400W power.
The Wi-Fi Power Point Controller is best suited
to appliances which do not contain internal on/
off switching, or which can be switched to an
always on state. For example, a traditional lamp
would be well suited to the Wi-Fi Power Point
Controller, but a touch-lamp which resets to
the off position when the power is cut, would
not be a good choice for the Wi-Fi Power Point
Controller.
I can’t connect to my Wi-Fi Power
Point Controller from outside of my
home Wi-Fi Network.
You will need to enable port forwarding to
access the Wi-Fi Power Point Controller from
outside your home. Please refer to p. 27 for
details.
