b) Electrical safety
• Before connecting the product to the mains, make sure that your local AC mains
voltage matches the specifications on the nameplate.
• This product is built according to protection class I. It must only be connected to
an earthed mains socket.
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next to
the device. If liquid or an object gets into the device, power down the respective
mains socket (e.g. switch off the circuit breaker), and then pull the mains plug
from the mains socket. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist repair
centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow
the product to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it into use.
This may take several hours.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Never unplug the mains plug by pulling on the cable. Always use the grips on
the plug.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not plan to use the
appliance for an extended period of time.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during
thunderstorms.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges
or subjected to mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains
cable from extreme heat or cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the
mains cable may be damaged. Damaged mains cables can cause a fatal electric
shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if there are any signs of damage. Power down the
respective mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker), and then carefully
unplug the mains plug from the mains socket. Never use the product if the mains
cable is damaged.
• Damaged mains cables must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised
repair centre or a qualified electrician.
• Never insert or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• Each socket on the socket strip comes with a child safety lock. The socket can
only be unlocked by inserting the pins of a plug into both of the socket openings
at the same time. Nevertheless, exercise particular caution when children are
present. Children do not understand the hazards associated with the incorrect use
of electrical devices. There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
• Do not overload the socket strip. Pay attention to the maximum permitted total
power consumption of all connected loads in the "Technical data" section.
• Insert the mains plug of the socket strip into a wall socket.
• Do not connect the product in series! Do not connect any other socket strips or
other power distribution devices to the product. This can lead to an overload! This
constitutes a fire hazard!
• Do not operate while covered! The socket strip and the connection cable will
become warm when there is a high connected load. This constitutes a fire hazard!
• De-energised only if unplugged!
• Only use in dry rooms.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
Setup and installation
• You can easily set the socket strip up on a level surface.
Please ensure that the on/off switch is exposed, easily accessible and that it cannot
be actuated by accidentally pressing on the top of the socket strip.
• Align the socket strip by turning the joints accordingly. You can adjust to the conditions in the
installation location, e.g. position around furniture or household appliances.
• Completely unwind the mains cable when using the socket strip and ensure that there are
no loops.
• Mount the product in a suitable location. Lay the cable such that nobody will trip over it. Use
suitable padding to protect valuable surfaces against scratches.

Intended use
The socket strip features five safety outlets to which appropriate devices can be connected.
All of the sockets can be switched on or off together using the on/off button, which features
a built-in light. Two USB ports are used for the power supply of compatible USB devices with
5 V/DC direct current. The connection data and the maximum permitted total power consumption
of all connected loads can be found in the "Technical data" section.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g.
in a bathroom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the instructions
carefully and store them in a safe place. If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand
