Connection 

 DANGER! Electric shock hazard! 

The device can cause injuries due to improper installation! 

 

Before installation and connecting the local power grid specification should 
be compared with that of the device (see rating plate). Connect the device only 
in case of compliance! 

 

Connect the device only to properly installed single socket with 
protective terminal. 

 

 

  The electrical circuit in the socket must be secured to at least 16A. Only connect the 

device directly to the wall socket; do not use any extension cords or power strips. 

 
 

5.2 Operation 

 

 

Before use clean the device following instructions set in point 6 „Cleaning“

 

  Plug the power cable in the socket located on the left 

side of the device and then plug the device in with the 
grounded mains socket.

 

 

  The device is supplied with a 18 W neon tube which, when on, emits blue light. 

  Insects are attracted by UV light and they stick to the adhesive sheet located in front 

of the neon tube. 

  Do not use the device in bright light as it may reduce its efficacy. 

  In bedrooms, switch on the insect trap 10 to 20 minutes prior to switching on any 

other sources of light.

Unplug the device from the mains socket (pull the plug!) before replacing 
the neon tube and adhesive sheet. 

 
 
Replacement of UV-A neon tube 

 

When the neon tube in the insect trap is damaged it can be easily replaced by a new 
UV-A lamp (Bartscher code-no. 300330).  

Follow the instructions: 

  tilt the cover down to gain access to the neon tube; 
  carefully remove the damaged neon tube from the holder;
