5.2 Installation and connection
•
Discard the complete packing material after unpacking the device.
•
Place the device on top of an even and safe surface which supports the weight of
the device and is not heat sensitive.
•
Not at any time should you place the device on an inflammable surface (such as:
table cloth, carpet, etc.).
•
You must not position the device near open fireplaces, electric ovens/arc furnaces,
furnaces/electric heaters or other heat sources.
•
The electrical circuit in the socket must be secured to at least 16A. Only connect the
device directly to the wall socket; do not use any extension cords or power strips.
•
Place the device so that the plug is easily accessible and can be quickly removed
from its socket in case of necessity.
5.3 Operating
Start up
•
Before first use of the food warmer, wash the removable inner pot and the glass lid
with warm water and a mild detergent, rinse with clear water and dry the parts
thoroughly afterwards.
•
Make sure, the removable inner pot is completely dry before you insert it back into
the outer pot.
•
Wipe off the inside and outside of the outer pot with a soft, damp cloth in order to
remove dust cumulated from packing and transportation.
CAUTION!
Not at any time should you dunk the outer pot into water or other fluids.
•
Place the removable inner pot back into the outer pot after accomplishing the above
steps.
CAUTION!
Do not fill any fluids into the outer pot!
•
Fill 6 cups of water into the inner pot and cover it with the glass lid. Do not operate
the device „dry“ at any time, i.e. do not use the device if there are no foods in the
inner pot.
•
Connect the power plug to the socket and set the temperature control on the highest
stage „
“. Let the food warmer operate for approx. 30 minutes. You will smell a
light odor. This is normal and the odor will quickly vanish.
