9. MECHANICAL PARTS AND SERVICING PROCEDURES

9.1 Lens holder
The lens holder can be taken out as a single unit (base plate + fi xation plate + Y-plate + X-plate): this is de-
scribed in the procedures below. The lens holder can also be taken out as a part of the engine.

9.1.1 Description of the lens holder
Description
The lens holder is an assembly of different parts:
• base plate:
-
is fi xed to the engine (2 screws) and to the projector chassis (3 screws)
- the motor connector board is mounted on this base plate
- motor and micro switch wires are guided through slots in this base plate
• fi xation plate:
- is fi xed to the base plate (3 screws and nuts)
- these 3 screws are screwed in and glued to the fi xation plate
- the vertical lens shift motor support is fi xed to this fi xation plate (2 screws)
- 4 linear bearings are used to connect it to the Y-plate
• Y-plate:
-
is fi xed to the fi xation plate (4 linear bearings)
- the 4 micro switches are fi xed to this Y-plate in pairs, the switch buttons towards the outer sides
- again 4 linear bearings are used to connect it to the X-plate
- 4 springs between the Y-plate and the X-plate are used to neutralize tolerances
• X-plate:
-
is fi xed to the Y-plate (4 linear bearings)
- this part of the lens holder is used to hold the lens fl ange
- the horizontal lens shift motor support is fi xed to this fi xation plate (2 screws)
- the lens connector is fi xed to this X-plate — the connector can be slightly moved!!
