8.8.1 Description of the engine
Description
The engine is a unit which consists of different parts:
• light pipe: makes the light beam homogeneous
• prism and formatters: the prism splits up the homogeneous white light into red, green and blue light beams and directs them
to the DMD’s. Next, this prism merges the processed light beams into one full color video image, which is projected via the
projector lens onto the screen
• cooling circuit: keeps the temperature of the engine within its limits
