2.2 Infrared LED
The IR LED is a LED that has a spectral emission at 850nm to emit light in the night vision
stimulated content.
2.3 Motorized Optical Filter
This is the optical filter part of the illumination system in the base projector. This filter is motor-
ized and can be moved in and out of the illumination system to improve the dimming resolution
in night time scenery. The filter is a ND filter (Neutral Density) which is 6% transmissive for the
visible light (430-690nm) and 95% transmissive for the IR wavelengths (770-850nm).
When the ND filter is moved into the illumination path the visible light will decrease to 6% of the
total visible light, while passing through 95% of the IR light.
2.4 Single Channel Input
In single channel mode the content goes through one of the input connectors and will be visible
for both the human eye and with NVGs (Night Vision Goggles). The RGB LEDs and IR LED are lit
simultaneously.
2.5 Dual Channel Input
FS35 WUXGA allows dual input so the user can have separate content on IR LED and RGB
LEDs simultaneously. In this mode the IR LED will display the source connected to DVI 1/HDMI
1, while RGB LEDs are used to display source connected to DVI 2/HDMI 2. The RGB LEDs are
turned off when the IR source is displayed to allow best possible night-time or limited-visibility
simulation.
Dual Channel Input allows using two separate channels, resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz pr
channel. Both channels must have the same resolution. In this mode the EDID will automatically
be changed to 1920x1200 60Hz.
