MACHINE OPERATION
•
Check all fluids before starting the machine.
• Make sure to go through the daily start-up and maintenance procedures before operating the machine.
• Cutter head must be disengaged before starting.
•
Start engine at idle speed and allow for sufficient time for oil to circulate before proceeding.
• Test all controls for proper operation.
• Avoid transversing slopes.
DO NOT OPERATE AROUND WATER, GAS, POWER OR PHONE LINES. IF IN DOUBT, CHECK BEFORE
MULCHING.
WEAR ALL PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PER ANSI, OSHA AND MANUALS.
KEEP CLEAR OF CUTTING HEAD, MOVING MACHINE PARTS AND DEBRIS FIELD.

OPERATOR’S MANUAL, INCLUDING HOW TO ATTACH AND DISCONNECT IMPLEMENT ATTACHMENTS.

STAY BACK 300 FEET (90 M) IN ALL DIRECTIONS FROM THE MACHINE WHILE IN OPERATION. ALWAYS
STOP AND WARN ANYONE FROM ENTERING THE 300 FOOT (90 M) RADIUS DEBRIS FIELD AROUND
THE MACHINE. FAILURE TO DO THIS COULD RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. WOOD CHIPS,
ROCKS, AND OTHER DEBRIS FLYING FROM THE CUTTER HEAD CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS.
DO NOT ENTER OR EXIT THE OPERATOR’S CAB UNLESS: THE CUTTER HEAD HAS COME TO A
COMPLETE STOP, THE CUTTER HEAD IS SETTING ON THE GROUND, AND THE IGNITION KEY
IS IN THE OPERATOR’S POSSESSION.

Pushworking - making the first initial passes
Pullworking - mulching what you have taken down with the first initial passes
Finishing - after all initial passes and stumps have been removed
1. Lift the cutter head up and tilt the mulcher up so that the cutter head is as exposed as possible.
2. Open the gate or trap door (if equipped).
3. Drive the machine into the work area and start mulching.
4. Lower the cutter head as allowed.
5. Move the machine slowly back and tilt the cutter head down as it approaches the ground.
6. Watch the engine RPM’s and adjust the machines mulching depth and travel speed as needed.
7. Do not allow the engine to stall.

Position the cutter head slightly off the ground.
2. Close the gate or trap door as needed to contain or control the debris (if equipped).
3. Back the machine back over the area that was mulched.
4. Watch the engine RPM’s and adjust the machines mulching depth and travel speed as needed.

1. Position the cutter head with the mulcher foot pads on the ground.
2. Close the gate or trap door (if equipped).
3. Back the machine back over the area that was mulched.

The slower the machine is driven, the finer the material that is left on the ground.
