AIR PRESSURE SWITCH
OPERATION DESCRIPTION
The air pressure switch has the purpose of switching the equip-
ment into the safety (lock-out) status if the air pressure is not what
it should be. The pressure switch must therefore be adjusted so
that it is triggered to close the NO contact (normally open) when
the air pressure in the burner reaches a sufficient value.
To verify that the air pressure switch is operating correctly, while the
burner is ignited at its minimum setting, increase adjustment value
until the switch triggers instant “blocked” stoppage of the burner.
Release the burner by pushing the appropriate button and readjust
the pressure switch until preventilation air pressure can be detected.
GAS PRESSURE SWITCH
OPERATION DESCRIPTION
The pressure switches for checking gas pressure (minimum and
maximum) prevent the burner from operating when the gas pres-
sure is not between the expected values. The specific function of
the pressure switches clearly reveals that the pressure switch for
controlling minimum pressure uses the NO contact (normally open)
which is closed when the pressure switch detects a pressure value
above the value it is set to, while the pressure switch for controlling
maximum pressure uses the NC contact (normally closed) which
is closed when the pressure switch detects a pressure lower than
the value it is set to. Minimum and maximum gas pressure switches
must be set when the burner is tested. Setting depends on pressure
detected from time to time. The pressure switches are connected
so that, the operation (i.e. opening of the circuit) of the switches
does not consent switch-on of the equipment. Remember that if
any of the pressure switches operates (i.e. the circuit is opened)
while burner is operating (flame lit) the burner stops immediately.
Adjustment before switching on the burner: set the minimum pres-
sure switch to the lowest setting on the scale, set the maximum
pressure switch to the highest setting on the scale. Adjustment
after burner calibration: With the burner at maximum flow adjust
the minimum pressure switch increasing the calibration value until
the burner switches off, read the value on the adjustment ring nut
and reduce it by 5 mbar. With the burner off adjust the maximum
pressure switch decreasing the calibration value until the the NC
contact (normally closed), opens. Read the value on the adjustment
ring nut and increase it by 5 mbar.
!
if only one pressure switch is fitted to the
gas train, this will control minimum pressure.
