IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse the cord,
plugs, or main body in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug the power cord from the outlet when the appliance is not in use and before
cleaning it. Allow the appliance to cool before putting on or taking off the parts, and
before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest
authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of any accessory not evaluated for use with this appliance may cause injuries.
8. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
9. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect,
turn any control to ”off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
12. Close the lid completely or it may result in scalds. Hold the handle, when removing the lid.
13. Do not remove the lid during the brewing cycles. Doing so may result in scalds.
14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
15. The appliance is for household use only.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
• A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a
longer cord.
• Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as high as the electrical rating of
the appliance.
2) This appliance is equipped with a grounded plug. The extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord.
3) The extension cord should be arranged so that it does not drape
over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over.
About the plug
• This appliance has a grounded type plug for safety purposes. This plug
is only compatible with 3-pin outlets.
• In order to avoid disabling this safety function, connect it to correctly
grounded outlets only.
• Do not remove the grounding prong.
• Failing to connect the grounding conductor correctly may cause electric
shock. If it is unclear whether the outlet is correctly grounded, consult a
qualified electrician.
