Specific functions BML SL1 (continued)
7.1.1 BML parameters and functions
The following options are available to change the BML
configuration:
Parameters

Note
Communication

BiSS/SSI
Sets the type of serial
interface.
Output
Not inverted
Rising output curve
Inverted
Falling output curve
Preset input
Disabled
To prevent the Preset
input from being
accidentally triggered,
it can be disabled.
Enabled
The Preset input is
used to set the
current position value
to a continuous
approx. 10 mm.
Analog filter
Disabled
Using the analog filter
reduces position
noise. Use of the
analog filter can result
in a lag error.
Low filter
(15 kHz)
High filter
(7.5 kHz)
Signal quality
threshold
Disabled
Signal quality
monitoring disabled.
Several

options
(0…100%)
The sensor head
continuously monitors
the signal quality. If
the signal quality
drops below the
threshold value, a
warning is issued
through the digital
interface and the LED
provides a
corresponding
indication.

chapter 5.3.2 on page 14).
The changes are only applied after the
Write

COnfiguratiOn
button has been
clicked, and the parameters have been written.
To avoid data loss and malfunctions, do not
remove the sensor head during an update
process.
7.1.2 Write system configuration
DANGER
Uncontrolled system movement
When starting up, if the magnetic encoder system is part
of a closed loop system whose parameters have not yet
been set, the system may perform uncontrolled
movements. This could result in personal injury and
equipment damage.
►
The system must be taken out of operation before
configuration.
►
The sensor head may only be connected to the USB
adapter for configuration.
►
After using the Configuration Tool remove the USB
adapter.
To avoid data loss and malfunctions, do not
remove the sensor head during the write
process.
Clicking on
Write
SySteM
COnfiguratiOn
sends information
to the sensor head. Transmission takes a certain amount
of time, since all the parameters are sent.
The button
Write
SySteM
COnfiguratiOnS
is only
active if there are pending changes in
parameters.
7.1.3 Read system configuration
The current sensor head parameters can be read out at
any time using the button
reaD S
ySteM
C
OnfiguratiOn
.
When reading out, the parameters shown in the
Configuration Tool are rejected.
This is helpful for example when the parameters
in the Configuration Tool are changed but not
written to the sensor head and you want to
display the original settings currently stored in
the sensor head again.
