Another reason may be that you did not remove the tiny cell battery insulation strip at the back near the
kickstand. It is very easy to miss. The cell battery will help to memorize the settings in case of power
outage. Once removed, the backlight will be normal otherwise it assumes the battery level is low.
On our weather station, the battery always shows it's almost dead, yet it's plugged in and
never dies. Is there some way we can reset it to get the battery to show properly?
The battery sign shows LOW may due to the following reasons:
1. if it is outdoor, then the sensor's batteries are getting low and need replacement
2.
if it is indoor, it refers to the built-in cell battery under the backcover, it is not used to power
the weather station, but to keep the data memorized should a power outage occur. The cell
battery can also be easily replaced.
3.
If it is indoor, the low battery sign may be due to the tiny cell battery insulation strip at the back
near the kickstand did not get removed. It is very easy to miss. The cell battery will help to
memorize the settings in case of power outage. Once the insulation strip is removed, the low
battery sign will be gone.
4.
if the weather station is powered by batteries, and the battery-low-sign is indoor, you should also
check the batteries from the rear compartment. This doesn't apply to all models.
The time on my weather station is always wrong by 3 hours
This condition only applies to the weather stations feature atomic clock function. The RCC receiving
function will set and adjust the time automatically daily. All you need to do is to choose the correct time
zone. If not, the clock will always adjust time to the default time zone EST(-5), which will be 3 hours
earlier if you live in CA (PST). Please check the time zone in your weather station and adjust accordingly.
My Wireless Color Weather Station with 3 Remote Sensors shows an evergreen tree
symbol next to the #1 Sensor Humidity reading and a 2 water droplet symbol next to the
relative humidity reading of #2 and #3 Remote Sensors. What do those symbols indicate?
There are 3 sensors for 3 channel Weather Stations. Only the CH1 sensor is responsible for the outdoor
weather forecast. Therefore, it is designed to be placed outdoor - hence the TREE symbol. The CH2 &
CH3 sensors can be placed anywhere, either indoor or outdoor, and they will only display the temperature
& humidity - hence the WATER DROPLET symbol. All three sensors are the same; just ensure that the
sensor locks to CH1 is placed outdoors to ensure accurate weather forecasting.
During setting, one step is “BP”. I can turn it “ON” or “OFF”. What is this?
The "BP" means the beeping sound during the set up. Some prefer each step beeps, while others prefer
setting clock or alarm without noise. Hence the "ON" or "OFF" options.
What happens when the outdoor sensor is in the rain?
The remote sensor is designed to be weatherproof but not waterproof. Therefore we suggest placing it
outdoor with a shelter. If leaving it in rain, water can get inside the battery compartment and leads to
malfunction.
