Lifting the head section on it’s own 

will cause the occupant to slide down 
the bed. 
 
 
 
It is common practice to first raise the 
Foot section and then the Head sec-
tion.  This will reduce the sliding ef-
fect for the occupant using the bed. 
 
 
 
Raising  the foot section can offer 
comfort  to the occupant if they are 
suffering from swollen ankles.
