ADJUSTMENT
Depth Stop Adjustment
To drill a hole or holes at a preset depth, use the depth stop:
1. Using a scrap piece of wood of the same thickness, mark the side of the wood at the depth
the bit will drill into the workpiece.
2. Install and secure the drill bit in the chuck, and then lower down-feed handle to advance bit
to the mark.
3. Hold the down-feed in position and set the stop nut to the stop point.
Changing Spindle Speeds
A spindle speed and pulley/belt arrangement chart is found on the inside of the pulley cover.
Refer to this chart whenever changing speeds.
To change spindle speeds:
1. Disconnect the machine from the power source.
2. Loosen two thumb knobs found on each side of the head assembly.
3. Rotate the tension adjuster to bring the motor base as close to the head as possible.
4. Change the position of belts per pulley/belt arrangement chart to set desired speed.
5. Rotate the tension adjuster tension the belts. Belts are properly tensioned when finger and
thumb pressure midway between the two pulleys produce approximately 1/2" deflection.
6. Tighten two thumb knobs.
