REPLACING THE TRIMMER LINE
1. Remove trimmer head top cap and remove spool
2. Cut a length of trimmer line, find the centre point and hook it to the notch in the middle of the spool
3. Wind the trimmer line around the spool clockwise keeping each end separated
4. Temporarily hook the trimmer line to opposing notches in the base of the spool
5. Insert the spool into the trimmer head top cap with the line through opposing eyelets
6. Holding the spool, pull the trimer line gently to release it from the notches in the spool’s bottom plate
7. Fit the trimmer head assembly on to the trimmer head
SHARPENING THE LINE CUTTING KNIFE
• Rem
ove the line cutting knife (1) from the guard (2) by unscrewing the screws (3).

Fix the line cutting knife in a vice and sharpen it using a flat file, being careful to retain the
original cutting angle.
• Refit the kni
fe on the guard.

CLEANING
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always stop the engine and allow it to cool
before cleaning or maintaining the unit.
At the end of each working session, use a small brush to clean the outside of the unit. Do not
use strong detergents. Household cleaners that contain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and
solvents such as kerosene, can damage plastic. Wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth. Carefully
make sure that there are no damaged parts, replacing any faulty parts.
