Mounting
CAUTION
Targeted duct work
must not
be in operation during the Installation of the Duct Mount
Kit.
NOTICE
All components listed (brackets, grommet, screws) are included in the Duct Mount Kit.
The straps required for attaching the kit to a round duct, or screws to attach the kit to a
flat duct are not included.
Step
Mounting Instructions
a
Drill a hole at the point of measurement with a diameter of 2.5" (64 mm).
b
Attach the grommet (
) in the hole.
c
Mount the instrument onto the sliding back plate using two screws (
). During this process
the sensor must point toward the duct.
d
Remove the splash guard / calibration adapter from the sensing head. Retain for future
calibration procedure.
e
Align the center of the opening of the pre-assembled Duct Mount Kit with the hole in the
duct.
•
For round ducts, use 0.5" (13 mm) wide straps (
; not included) to attach the kit onto
the duct.
•
For flat ducts, screw base plate to the duct.

Electrical Connection
Complete the electrical connection and assembly of the instrument in accordance with the Installation
Guide (part number 1100-0999) or User Manual (part number 1100-1000).

Step
Moving the Instrument into the Maintenance Position

Loosen the 2 screws on the side of the back plate (
).
b
Slide the instrument up and out of the grommet.
c
Secure position by tightening the screws.
d
Perform maintenance or calibration (using the splash guard / calibration adapter from step d
of Section 2 above).
e
Reverse these steps to return the MGS-550 to measurement.
