1. Determine the stitch that you wish to use.
* Refer to Pattern Chart on page 43.
2. Determine which presser foot should be used with the selected stitch.
The presser feet can be stored inside the accessory compartment.
* For details on the stitches that can be sewn with a twin needle, refer to "Stitch Reference
Chart" beginning on page 103.
3. Attach the correct presser foot for the selected stitch.
* For detailed instructions, refer to "Changing the Presser Foot" on page 38.
4. Turn on the sewing machine.
* The straight stitch is shown selected within the LCD.
5. Press stitch selection key "
" and the pattern group screen will automatically appear on the
LCD screen. Press one of the folders on the LCD screen to select a pattern mode and to enter
the pattern list.
6. Use the page key "
" , "
" to scroll through the pattern list or enter 2 digit pattern number
from the selected group on the stitch pattern plate.
7. Press the pattern list key "
" to return to the pattern list to select the other stitches in the
same group mode.
Note:
When a stitch is selected, the icon for the presser foot that should be used appears
in the screen. Check that the correct presser foot is attached before starting to sew. If the
wrong presser foot is installed, turn off the sewing machine, attach the correct presser foot,
and then select the desired stitch again.

Using the Favorite stitch key
After setting your favorite stitches and alphabets, twenty of the most frequently used stitches can
quickly be selected using the favorite stitch key "
". Select the desired stitch from the favorite
pattern list. For setting detailed instructions, refer to "Favorite stitch" on page 24.
