Cleaning the Shuttle Hook
If lint and bits of thread accumulate in the hook, this will interfere with the smooth operation of
the machine. Check and clean regularly. We recommend using the cleaning brush often in order
to keep lint off the needle bar, the feed dog mechanism and foot.
Your Baby Lock’s major moving parts are well protected and do not need to be oiled. This is one
of the areas your Baby Lock retailer will check when you take your machine in for its regular
scheduled maintenance.
1. Remove the bobbin case from the shuttle race pin
and flip the shuttle race clasps toward the outside
edges of the shuttle race ring. (Fig. A)
2. Remove the shuttle race ring and shuttle race.
(Fig. B)
3. Using the lint brush thoroughly clean around the
inside of the shuttle driver. (Fig. C)
4. Replace shuttle race, then the shuttle race ring, and
last flip the shuttle race clasps toward the inside of
the shuttle race until they click back into place.
