In order to guarantee permanent readiness for operation of the B-SAFETY eye showers it is recommended that
the showers are subjected to a regular (at least annual) and comprehensive service. Within the framework of this
service the shower's closing characteristics must be examined and checks must be made to establish any leaks
and contamination such as e.g. dust or calcium deposits.
The hose of the hand-held eye showers must be examined for possible twists, kinks or other forms of damage.
Defective parts must be replaced immediately. The back flow preventer which is installed in the connection piece
must be renewed every two years.
11.2 Care
In the event of contamination or calcium deposits the shower should be cleaned properly with a suitable cleaning
agent which is not aggressive towards the fittings and then rinsed with water following use. High pressure cleaners
must not be used.
In EX environments any plastic surfaces must be cleaned by gently wiping it with a damp or antistatic cloth.
12. Faults
It is possible that hand-held eye showers may leak following connection to the cold water pipe. This is generally
due to impurities from the water system which settle in front of the valve. In this case disconnect the hand-held
eye shower from the water supply. Activate the shower without pressure a few times and rinse the pipe thoroughly
prior to reconnection.
13. Disposal
The safety shower system can be fully dismantled. The individual sections such as metal, insulation etc. can be
sent for recycling separately. The national and local waste disposal regulations must be observed.
